Local Groups

North American Branch Local Gatherings:

Many of members get together in local or regoinal groups on occasion to share skills etc. Some of these groups meet frequently, some not. If you would like to meet with others in your area we would like to encourage this by making available links to the local groups' sites. If you are interested in starting a local group, feel free to seek advice from one of the people that has been involved in starting a local group. It only takes a few people to have a productive gathering so don't feel that you need to assemble a crowd to have a meaningful and productive event. If you have a local group meeting and are NOT listed here, please contact the webmaster and we will post your information. -

Indianapolis Area Gathering...
Although the name is still undecided, we are happy to anounce that a new Chapter of the IGKT-NAB is newly formed. Our first and organizational meeting will be held on March 7, 2010 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM (Eastern) at Belzer Scout Camp on the North side of Indianapolis, IN. You are welcome to join us. Bring a show and tell item if you like. We are very excited to start this Chapter and hope to see you there on the 7th.

MAR[Mid-Atlantic Region] of the IGKT-NAB

A local group of the IGKT-NAB has been formed in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. The "Mid-Atlantic Region of the NAB" (MAR) meets occasionally in Maryland (just outside Washington, DC), and invites IGKT members or other knotting enthusiasts to join us at our meetings and events. Please plan on dropping by if you are in the area!

In addition to meetings to discuss knots and knot books, and to compare works, we occasionally participate in a variety of educational events such as local Folk Festivals, Boating Education classes and discussions with local organizations who use knots in their work.

Even if you're not a IGKT/IGKT-NAB member, would you like to come to a meeting? If so e-mail me and I'll give you details.

We have had several great meetings at the Gateway Center for the Arts in DeBary, FL. We have had people come from as far as three hours away to join us for the day.
