MAR Meeting Update - Important Info!
I just sent out some information on the April 24 MAR meeting in Baltimore, to
all those who emailed me. The response this year is very strong, and we will
probably overflow the conference room Constellation has offered us, so we will
most likely set up a secondary table outside. If you are thinking of attending
and you did NOT get the email I just sent out, PLEASE EMAIL me asap for info on
what to do and where to go! I am at firstname.lastname@example.org
I am really looking forward to seeing all of you, old and new, there!
The Mid-Atlantic Region (MAR) of the International Guild of Knot Tyers will hold its next meeting on Saturday, April 24 from 10:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m (or beyond) at the historic U.S.S. Constellation Museum in Baltimore Harbor.
If you are interested in knot tying, please join us. We will have some tutorials on tying fancy knots, but for the most part we will just meet and share our interest and joy in knot tying. There may be some traditional marlinspike rigging work aboard ship t.b.d. Beginners are welcome.
The meeting will be held in the office building at the entrance to the Constellation, on Pier 1 in Baltimore harbor. Please bring whatever knot work you are working on, and any knot tying tools you have. There are food courts all around, and some of us will go out for a snack after the meeting.
The meeting is free. Entrance (with interactive tour guide) to the historical square rigged U.S. Navy sloop-of-war Constellation is $10, and is well worth it, for any of you who are interested in ships. Volunteer riggers get aboard free, so if we do any shipboard rigging work we may go aboard free.
Parking in downtown Baltimore is not free! (Unless you are very clever). Contact me if you want information.
For directions, you can look up Constellation on the web, or contact me, Michael Pollock, at email@example.com. I would appreciate an email if you have any interest in coming, as we need to arrange for sufficient tutorial supplies and chairs.
I hope to see many of you there! Happy Knotting
